Corrida del Mariachi 5k

The Corrida del Mariachi 5k returns on August 15, 2026, for our 7th year Anniversary!
The Corrida begins promptly at 8:00 am at 16th St. & Wesley Ave. and ends right where it started to enthusiastic cheers, music, & congratulations.

‍Join us for a festive run through the tree lined streets of Berwyn, IL. where runners will be cheered along the course of the race with lively entertainment, mariachi bands, traditional folkloric dancers, and Djs all the way to the finish line where the After Party begins!

Delicious food vendors, beer, over 40 craft vendors, activities for the kids, and live bands, it’s a party you don't want to miss and one you'll remember for years to come!

Corrida Highlights

The only CARA certified 5k race that runs through the city of Berwyn
Top (1st) Male and Female overall finishers as well as runners who finish in the top (1st) of their age/gender divisions will be awarded an authentic Mariachi sombrero and 1st place medal.
Top (2nd & 3rd) Male and Female overall finishers as well as runners who finish in the top (2nd & 3rd) of their age/gender divisions will be awarded 2nd & 3rd place medals.

‍(when registering a minor (under 18 yrs.) an adult must complete and sign registration form on their behalf).‍

Race Day Details

Check in begins at 6:00 am at 16th St. & Wesley Ave.
The race will begin promptly at 8:00 am.
Strollers are permitted, however please be considerate and lineup towards the back.
In the interest of safety, animals, skates, skateboards, or bicycles will not be allowed on the course.

Parking

As street parking will be very limited, we recommend the following locations as alternate parking:

Joseph C. Vallez Activity Center parking lot: 1529 Harlem Avenue
Vacin Fairway (North of Cermak between Lombard & Grove)
Morton West High School (2400 Home Avenue)

Race Day Street Closures:

6600-6900 blocks of 16th St.
1600-2100 blocks of East Ave.
6600 block of Cermak Rd.
6700-6900 blocks of Riverside Dr.
1400-2400 blocks of Home Ave.
1400-1500 blocks of Clinton Ave.
closure of the streets will begin Friday, August 14 at 6:00 pm until Saturday, August 15 at noon.
please be aware of how these street closures will affect the interior streets when planning for the day, we appreciate your cooperation.

Every registered participant will receive our yearly collectible Mariachi Medal as you cross the Finish line.

Timed Participants:
