Berkeley Brawl II - A Blood Bowl 7s Tournament
About this Event
This is a one-day, four-round Blood Bowl 7s tournament, NAF-certified, held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Games of Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. We will use the standard ruleset for 7s play, with modifications described below. Coaches should bring their team miniatures (painted to a 3-color minimum, and positionals easily differentiable), dice, a printed roster, and a 7s pitch if they have one (we will have some available for use at the store).

ENTRY FEE AND PRIZES:
There will be a $25 entry fee, payable in advance or day-of. Everyone who takes part will receive a pair of event-branded d6 dice. Additionally, membership in the NAF may be purchased on site – if interested, talk to a tournament organizer. NAF membership is not required to play in the tournament.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers, as well as the top Stunty team, the team who scored the most TDs (Best Offense), the team who caused the most CASs (Most Brutal), and the team who gave up the least TDs (Best Defense). There will also be a prize for the team with the worst record on the day (“Wooden Spoon”). If a team is eligible for more than one prize, they will receive only the highest value one and the next team in the standings for the other prize will be rewarded.
SCHEDULE:
Each of the four rounds will be 90 minutes long, with a 30-minute lunch break after round 1. If time in the round is called and the game has not finished, players will complete their turns so that both sides have taken an equal amount of turns and then the game will end. A timer may be placed on the game if turns are taking too long after time in the round has been called.
- Registration: 11:30 – 12:00
- Round 1: 12:00 – 1:30
- Lunch break: 1:30 – 2:00
- Round 2: 2:00 - 3:30
- Round 3: 3:45 – 5:15
- Round 4: 5:30 – 7:00
- Award Ceremony: 7:15 - 7:45
SCORING AND FORMAT:
Players will receive points for winning or drawing their game, as well as bonus points from additional feats:
10 points for a win / 4 points for a tie / 0 points for a loss.
+1 point for scoring 3+ TDs during the match / +1 point for causing 3+ CAS during the match / +1 point for allowing 0 TDs during the match.
Points will be totaled at the end of the tournament to determine final placing. If there is a tie for a prize, tiebreakers will be: 1. Strength of schedule; 2. TD and CAS difference; 3. Lower tier team is favored.
Pairings for the first round will be random, and then a Swiss system will be used to pair teams in the following rounds.
This is a resurrection format tournament. Players who die during the course of a game will be back for the next one with no penalties. If a team acquires additional players during the course of the game (e.g. with the Masters of Undeath rule or the Plague-Ridden Trait), the resulting player(s) will leave the team at the end of the match.
TEAM COMPOSITION:
Coaches will have 600,000 gold to draft their team. Teams may be selected from any available in this edition of Blood Bowl, including any Spike! Magazines.
- A team roster must have at least 7 players and may not have more than 11.
- A team may only include up to 4 players who are not core Linemen (0-12 or 0-16 limit and the Lineman keyword) *. These 4 players may come from any position on the roster and are subject to the normal roster allowances (e.g. 0-2 Wardancers).
- Star Players may not be included.
*For the purposes of 7s, ignore the Insignificant rule. Everybody in 7s is insignificant!
A team may take 0-6 Rerolls, which will cost twice the listed amount for your team. If your team is allowed to purchase an Apothecary, they may be purchased for 80,000 gold. 0-1 Assistant Coaches and/or 0-2 Cheerleaders may be bought at a cost of 30,000 gold each. 0-2 Dedicated Fans may be bought for 20,000 gold each.
Additionally, teams may use their gold to purchase from a selection of Inducements, which once purchased will be available for each match:

FAQ/ERRATA, DICE POLICY, & JUDGING:
We will be using the most recent Blood Bowl FAQ and Errata from GW:
For any questions not answered by these documents, we will use the NAF Recommendations and Clarifications:
DICE: Players are encouraged to share dice during a game, but this is not required. If dice are shared, the players should work out between themselves which dice they would like to use. When rolling dice, dice must be rolled on the table or in a dice tray; rolling using a dice cup is allowed but discouraged. If a reasonable concern is raised about the validity of a particular set of dice, the dice should be put aside immediately and a different set used for the remainder of the game, and the dice in question must be made available to a judge for inspection.
JUDGING: If a question occurs during play, players should request a judge come to answer. The judge may make a ruling if there is a dispute. These rulings are final for the duration of the tournament. A judge may issue a warning to a player if they act inappropriately or repeatedly make mistakes to their benefit. If a player is caught egregiously cheating (in such a way where the cheating was clearly intentional), receives multiple warnings, or otherwise violates store policy, the player will be asked to leave the tournament and the venue and will not be refunded the entry fee. The incident will be reported to the store, which reserves the right to levy further actions.
