Swing for a Cause: Golf Tournament Supporting Foster Youth
Join us for a meaningful day on the green where great golf meets an even greater cause.
The Contra Costa College EOPS/NextUp programs invite you to our annual golf tournament benefiting the Dr. George G. Mills Jr. Scholarship, a scholarship dedicated to supporting current and former foster youth as they pursue higher education and brighter futures.
Why This Matters
The Dr. George G. Mills Jr. Scholarship provides direct financial support to students who have experienced foster care—helping remove barriers to college success and empowering students to focus on their goals. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation goes directly toward creating opportunities and lasting impact for these students.

Special Contests & Prizes
In addition to a great day of golf, participants will have multiple opportunities to win prizes while supporitng the Dr. George G. Mills Jr. Scholarship Fund:
Closest to the Pin Challenges
We ill feature 3 Closest-to-the-Pin contests throughout the course, each with its own prize:
Hole 4 - Box of Srixon Golf Balls
Hole 7 - $100 Primetime Golf gift card. Sponsored by Primetime Golf, a premier golf simulator experience and proud Contra Costa College alumni-supported business.
Hole 11 - Golf gift basket (inclued but not limited to: Headcover, Hat, Towel, Golf Ball Sleave, Ball Marker, etc)
Longest Drive Competition
Test your power on our designated Longest Drive hole. The golfer who records the longest drive in the fairway will be recognized during the awards ceremony and receive a tournament trophy.
Best Round Competition
The golfer with the lowest score of the day will be crowned Tournament Champion and receive a championship trophy.
Tournament Raffle Prize
Participants will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for exciting donated prizes, including:
• Premium Ask Echo Golf Bag. Sponsored by Ask Echo Golf, known for their innovative and high-quality golf bags.
• Scratch Lab Golf Gift Voucher (Valued at $300).
Survivor Putting Challenge
Think you've got nerves of steel on the green?
Join our Survivor Putting Challenge.
• $10 Entry Fee
• Last golfer standing wins a premium PING putter
• All proceeds benefit the scholarship fund
Participants will advance through multiple rounds of putting from increasing distances. Make your putt and advance. Miss your putt and you're eliminated. The final golfer remaining will take home the putter and earn bragging rights for the year.
We are incredibly grateful to these community partners for helping us enhance the tournament experience while supporting foster youth students.
Every contest entry and raffle ticket helps raise scholarship funds that directly support foster youth students at Contra Costa College.

Agenda

Recommended Arrival Time
Info: Recommended arriving 15 to 30 minutes early to warm up and settle in
🕑: 10:00 AM
Tee Time
Info: First tee time starts at 10a and continue every 10 minutes.
End of Round
Info: Upon completing your round, head to the event table. Submit your scorecard at the table to be scored.
Longest Drive Competition
Info: The Longest Drive Competition will be held on the 13th hole. You will have one opportunity to tee off, with no mulligans allowed. To be considered in the competition, you must land on the fairway. Any ball that lands outside of the fairway will not count toward the competition.
Closest-to-the-Pin Competitions
Info: Closest-to-the-pin(s) will be held on the 4th, 7th and 11th holes. You will have one opportunity to tee off and to land on the green. If you do not land on the green, you are not eligible to win this competition. A tape measure will be located on the green to measure your ball closest to the hole.
Best Round Competition
Info: Stroke Play: Participants complete by adding up their total score at the end of 18 holes. The participant with the lowest score/fewest strokes at the end of the competition will be announced the winner. Score is based on the honor system. Please score yourself accurately.
Survivor Putting Challenge
Info: Participants will advance through multiple rounds of putting from increasing distances. Make your putt and advance. Miss your putt and you're eliminated. The final golfer remaining will take home the putter and earn bragging rights for the year.
Awards Ceremony
Info: Winners of the Best Round, Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-pin(s) will be announced when all participants end their round. We will also host a group picture.
