Bereavement Across Cultures
About this Event
Bereavement Across Cultures
Join us on Friday 6 November 2026 for this interactive and thought-provoking workshop exploring how culture, faith, family traditions and community values shape experiences of death, grief and mourning.
Through discussion, case studies and applied learning, participants will consider cultural attitudes, beliefs and practices surrounding bereavement. The workshop will offer practical insights for working sensitively and respectfully across cultures, while encouraging participants to reflect on their own assumptions about grief and loss. The workshop will also be supported by one of our Cultural Consultants, who will bring a lived-experience perspective to the learning. Their contribution will help participants explore how cultural beliefs, traditions and community expectations can influence experiences of bereavement, while grounding the discussion in real-life insight.
This workshop is not intended to train participants as bereavement practitioners. Instead, it will strengthen their ability to recognise and respond thoughtfully to cultural differences when bereavement arises within their existing professional roles.
