Ann started playing APA Pool League in Spring of 2016 on Carpe Diem and then in Summer of 2017 also joined the Fortunate Ones. She has faithfully played all three sessions every year. In addition, she has made appearances on 4 other teams for a session. She was a part of two World Pool Championship teams (Fortunate Ones) that were able to play in Las Vegas in 2021 and 2024. Ann truly loves the game, loves competition, and most of all loves the pool community she has been apart of for over a decade.
April 2025 Ann received a diagnosis of Small Cell carcinoma left lung cancer and under went specialized treatment and chemotherapy for 12 weeks at the Zangmeister Cancer Center. She was given a report that her cancer was in remission in September 2025 and would continue with Immunotherapy treatments for another year while they continued to monitor her progress. These treatments have had extreme impacts on her energy and it has made it hard for her to work and enjoy the sport that she loves.
At a routine follow up on 03/03/2026, a PET scan reveals that she had a relapse and cancer was detected on her Lymph node along the bronchial tube. She will have to continue her existing treatments and if the cancer does not shrink, they will again have to restart chemotherapy.
As you can imagine, the impacts to her ability to work, added medical expenses, and other incidentals have created financial strain. At this time we are asking the pool community to gather around and help us support Ann.
We will have a benefit pool tournament, and plan to solicit donations for raffles and silent auctions. There will also be a 50/50 drawing. Direct cash contributions will be accepted or if you feel compelled you can make donations directly to Ann through PayPal at [email protected].
