Ben Poole is touring the UK this November with Post-Midnight Behaviour, his first studio album of new material in eight years, and Swansea is the only Welsh date.
Produced by Wayne Proctor and Oli Brown, with Elles Bailey on backing vocals, the album mixes blues rock with soul, country and something a bit more alternative, with Ben’s guitar playing right at the front. Guitar World has put him alongside Eric Clapton and John Mayer, Total Guitar named him one of the world’s best blues guitarists, and Jeff Beck, Gary Moore and Beth Hart have all praised him. In the Top Room you’ll be close enough to watch his hands.
Support comes from Gordon Wride. A Swansea blues man with more than thirty years on the circuit, Gordon fronted The Electric Revelators, who had Fairport Convention and Hellecasters guitarist Jerry Donahue in the line-up from 2011 to 2016. He’s toured with Mississippi Delta legend David “Honeyboy” Edwards, a contemporary of Robert Johnson, and shared stages with The Animals, The Yardbirds, Manfred Mann and The Stranglers. Get there early.
Doors 7pm. Top Room. 16+. £18 advance.
