People's Emergency Briefing Screening at West Cross Community Centre
About this Event
The People’s Emergency Briefing – Community Screening
Friday 6 November 2026 | 7:30pm
West Cross Community Centre, West Cross, Swansea
Free – booking required | Ages 16+
Mumbles Community Council is hosting a community screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing, part of a growing series of screenings taking place in communities across the UK.
The film brings together leading UK scientists and experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis and the ways these issues are already affecting everyday life – including extreme weather, food security, health, the economy and the resilience of our communities.
Originally presented to politicians and other influential figures at the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster in November 2025, this evidence has now been brought together in an accessible 50-minute film so that people across the country can hear the information, consider what it means locally and take part in the conversation.
What to expect
The evening will include a short welcome and introduction from Mumbles Community Council, followed by the screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing.
Afterwards, there will be refreshments and an opportunity for an open and constructive community discussion about the issues raised in the film, what they could mean for our local area, and the role communities can play in responding to the challenges ahead.
There will also be an information stand available during the evening with further resources and information.
Why are we hosting this screening?
Issues such as climate change and the decline of nature can affect many aspects of our everyday lives – from our health, food and local environment to infrastructure, the economy and the resilience of our communities.
As a Community Council, we believe it is important that residents have opportunities to access clear information, hear the evidence for themselves and take part in informed local conversations about issues that may affect the future of our community.
This event is intended to provide a welcoming space to listen, learn, ask questions and discuss the subject together.
