Tobias Leenaert (ProVeg co-founder) on being the most impactful advocates for animals: targets, tactics and communication.
About this Event

Creating a world without animal exploitation is the biggest challenge any group of humans has ever set for itself, so it's crucial that as a movement, we choose our targets, tactics and communication wisely. In this talk, we'll look at how we can be as impactful as possible in helping animals. For that, we may have to leave some well-trodden paths, ally ourselves with strange bedfellows, and go out of our comfort zone... The animals would want us to do whatever works.

Speaker: Tobias Leenaert is an effective animal advocacy author and speaker, and co-founder of ProVeg International.

Location: Trajan House, Mill Street, Oxford OX2 0DJ — in the Seminar Room on the 1st floor.

When: Friday 7 August 2026, 6:00–7:00pm
---
Note, earlier this same day there will be another talk by Tobias Leenaert at 4-5pm:
The animal advocacy and plant-based movement is facing headwinds. Sales of plant-based products have slowed down, and both diet change and animal welfare have become increasingly polarized issues. In this session, Tobias takes stock of where we stand today, highlights reasons for optimism, and points to the strategic areas where the animal movement can make a difference going forward.
