This evening, join us for a unique event, Behind the Glass, as we celebrate the influential work of British rock music producer Martin Birch. His critical ear and love for the music helped create the colossal sound of hard rock and heavy metal.
From his foundational work with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath to shaping the iconic albums of Iron Maiden, Birch’s production is instantly recognizable. He had a unique ability to capture both the raw power and intricate musicality of these bands. We'll listen to a diverse, curated selection of his most impactful recordings, allowing you to hear the immense detail and aural force of his sound on our high-end system. Your host David will feature selections from Jeck Beck, Fleetwood Mac, Blue Oyster Cult and more. This event is a fantastic opportunity to explore the art of production and the man who shaped a generation's sound.
It's not just the bands and artists that make your favorite music. Each month KC record collector and record store personality David Lombardo takes you Behind the Glass to the other side of the studio, focusing on a different Music Producer or Engineer. David will share stories, anecdotes, trivia, and of course, the RECORDS they have helped bring to life!
All of this great music will be played on The Listyning Room's world-class stereo system featuring high-end equipment by Audio Note, Klipsch and Cambridge Audio.
