Join artist Alex Asher for a two-part drawing experience designed to help you build confidence in sketching animals. The first session, Intro to Drawing, will be held in the education center at the museum on Wednesday, October 8 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. This class is $35 per person and will cover foundational techniques, tips for drawing animals, and a look at the supplies Alex prefers to use when sketching outdoors.
The following week, on Wednesday, October 15, students will meet at the Kansas City Zoo for Sketching at the KC Zoo from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. This second session offers the chance to practice your skills in the field alongside Alex while observing live animals. The cost for the zoo session is $75, or $65 for museum members, and includes admission to the zoo. While the two classes are designed to complement each other, participants are welcome to attend either or both sessions!
