About this Event

Behind Hidden Doors are fun, story-filled, free 90-minute guided tour that takes you inside some of downtown Cleveland’s most beautifully restored buildings—now reimagined as modern residential spaces. Offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays with two different routes, each experience uncovers a new set of places and stories.

These buildings have lived many lives. Along the way, your guide will share when they were built, what they were originally designed for, how they fell into decline, and what it took to bring them back. Through historic tax credit redevelopment, each has been transformed into residential + retail properties—where history isn’t just preserved, it’s part of everyday living.

Inside, you’ll explore model apartments and community spaces, getting a firsthand look at how original architectural character has been thoughtfully blended with the comfort and style of modern living.

Thursdays Route: Euclid Ave - Prospect Ave - Public Square • May 7, 14, 21

William Taylor & Son Department Store built in 1913 was home to one of Cleveland's leading department stores, now Residences at 668.

The Electric Building built in 1898 was home to offices and later headquarters for United Church of Christ, now a new residential property.

Terminal Tower completed in 1930 is Cleveland's Signature Skyscraper, now Residences at Terminal Tower.

Illuminating Building: opened in 1958 was Cleveland’s first new skyscraper built since the Terminal Tower, now home to Residences at 55.

These one-of-a-kind experiences are made possible through the partnership of K&D whose work in restoring and reimagining historic buildings helps ensure these stories continue to be lived today.

RESERVATIONS are requested but not required, walk-ups the day of tour are welcomed is space permits.
