Join CKAS for a Beginner's Bird Walk at Veteran's Park. Experienced birders are welcome as well, but we intend to focus on introducing new people to birding.
This will probably be too early in the season for many fall migrants, but we will keep our eyes open and hopefully get some last looks at our summer residents and maybe early migrating warblers. Loaner binoculars will be available.
Target Species: Eastern Towhee, Broad-winged Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Cardinal, Blue Jay, Song Sparrow, Pileated Woodpecker, Indigo Bunting, Brown Thrasher and early Warblers.
Terrain: Easy mowed and paved paths
Distance: 1 mile
Pace: Slow to moderate.
Distance: Approximately 1.5 miles total.
Restrooms: Limited (no access without leaving group to backtrack to nearby shelters/baseball fields).
