General: We are excited to offer this progressive 4-week series to get you started on your balboa journey! Please help spread the word and let your friends know!
Balboa has a very different feel than Lindy hop and is often danced to higher-tempo songs where triple steps become difficult.
This 4-week series will teach you what you need to know to comfortably social dance balboa/bal-swing. A strong emphasis on movement and the partnered connection will be made throughout the series. After the series, you’ll have the skills to continue your journey with Bal Lab (our weekly intermediate class/workshop on Sundays from 2:30 to 4.
Class size/location: this will take place at Infinity in their sapphire room (the medium-sized room). Since we have limited space, we’ll cap the class somewhere around 10-12 couples. No partner is needed to sign up, however, we would like to keep the leader/follow roles balanced. So if many people in your role sign up right away, you might be waitlisted while we wait for the other role to sign up too.
Class structure: each class will be 1.5 hours long. The first hour will be group instruction with partner rotation (like your typical class) and the last half hour will be a social dance where you are encouraged to dance with other students and us, the teachers! We will provide one-on-one feedback and will answer any questions you have. (This is not like a typical class.)
Cost: $80 for the entire 4 weeks
Drop-ins allowed IF the class isn’t full ($20).
