Stained Glass Floral Stem Bouquets
Open Workshop
This 7-hour dual-level open workshop offers those who have no experience in creating stained glass the chance to create 2 simpler floral stems and those with some experience with creating stained glass art through the copper foil & solder method the chance to expand their skills while making at least 4 floral stems to be displayed in a vase. In order to create 4 floral stems, students should have experience with cutting glass and at least basic knowledge of the soldering process. Needing a quick refresher is completely fine, we just don't want to start from scratch on what students know. This is a great "next step" class for those who have taken a beginner class at SHAK before or those who have never ventured into stained glass alike.
Included in class are all supplies to create 2-4 floral stems. If students would like to make additional stems supplies for these can be purchased during class for $15 for each additional flower. (Max 8 stems per student.)
This is an open workshop, so students are encouraged to come and go as they please. If students wish to attend for the entire 7 hours they are welcome to, but students should expect to spend at least 4 hours at the class, with more time needing to be spent if you wish to create extra stems.
Friday, May 22nd
3:00-10:00pm
*Students can come and go whenever they please.*
SHAK Members- $50/per person
Non-SHAK Members- $62.50/per person
Some options include:

Vases for displaying floral stems will not be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their desired vase to class in order to ensure the stems are long enough.
Students will also have access to our "scrap glass" bins, but if they wish to provide their own stain glass, they should bring it along with them. Students are encouraged to check out the glass available from Kokomo Opalescent Glass, but it can also be purchased at Hobby Lobby or from various websites.
Students are welcome to email the instructor, Jen Martin, at [email protected] with any questions about this.
Closed-toe shoes are required for all participants.
*Stained glass workshops are very popular and often fill quickly. Please register only if you plan to attend. Refunds and transfers to a different class date are granted on a very limited, case-by-case basis.*
Prescription glasses or reading glasses are recommended for those with vision needs but are not required.
Students may bring their own safety glasses and gardening or safety gloves (thick, protective gloves—thin plastic gloves are not permitted). These items are optional and only necessary if you prefer not to use the shared safety equipment provided. Safety glasses and gloves are available at most home improvement stores.
Participants are welcome to bring a snack or non-alcoholic beverage or visit Lexis’ Drink Barn next door.
Safety is our top priority. All students and assisting adults must be able to listen to and follow instructions to ensure a safe and successful class experience. Anyone unable or unwilling to follow instructions—particularly safety guidelines—will be asked to leave SHAK immediately without a refund.
Some examples of the types of projects students might create are listed below. These exact designs may not all be available for students, this is just to allow you to understand what to expect.
