About this Event
At the most basic level, Kundalini is the primordial aliveness of life.
Tantric and yogic traditions describe Kundalini as a dormant energy of immense power that lies coiled as the base of the spine. When activated, it rises like a serpent upward through the body toward the crown of the head. Kundalini can lead to experiences of bliss and spiritual realization. When held with skill and respect, Kundalini can be among the most profound and precious of our inheritances as humans. Drawing on decades of practice with Kundalini, Mara and Matt are teaming up to share their wisdom to befriend your kundalini.

Meet The Facilitators:
Mara Roy is a relationship and intimacy coach, educator and facilitator who has practiced and taught integrative body and breath work, movement, meditation, tantra, yoga and conscious touch for over 20 years. As a champion for overcoming shame and deepening fulfillment, she helps her clients and students explore and express themselves in a safe and supportive environment. Her work is trauma informed and focused on creating self-awareness, self-love, mindfulness and increased pleasure.
Mara was trained at The Body Electric School (where she is currently a faculty member), The Somatica Institute, is a certified Compassionate Inquiry (CI) Practitioner, and holds a CPCC certification from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI). Mara continues education in the areas of attachment theory, nervous system regulation, Compassionate Inquiry (as taught by Gabor Mate), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing.Mara works with individuals, couples and groups of all backgrounds, orientations and relationship styles. Matt Sturm is a guide for transformational experiences and an author. He works with people to slow down, to come into their bodies, and to connect to their innate inner wisdom. Matt holds a strong, clear container for healing, intimacy, and spiritual awakening within a variety of contexts. These include psychotherapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy, sacred sexuality, breathwork journeys, and men’s retreats. He runs the Living Kosmos integral mystery school based on his deck, the Living Kosmos tarot. He is the author of two books The Organic Masculine, and Primal Drives – both are integral and archetypal workbooks on masculinity.
Matt draws on his training in the Hakomi method of somatic psychotherapy, Source Embodiment, Kundalini Awakening Process, sexual neo-tantra, Hatha yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism.
