About this Event

Join us for an introduction to the newest tree pest near you. What is beech leaf disease? How concerned should we be about our beech trees? Wait, how do I know my tree is a beech? This Tree Talk should equip you with the latest information about beech leaf disease in Virginia.

Presenter Meredith Bean is Virginia Department of Forestry's Forest Health Specialist. Her primary role at the DOF is to monitor and diagnose forest health disturbances across the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is all ears, if you have bug or disease problems you'd like to report.

Meredith has a Master’s degree in Forest Science from Clemson University, where she focused on Asian Longhorned Beetle spread patterns, and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University.

Our talks and walks are free, but donations are always welcome. Thanks!
