Have you heard the buzz? The City of Westover, WV is a proud Bee City USA! This means that we, as a city, made a promise to sustain pollinators, in particular the more than 3,600 species of native bees in this country (over 100 in West Virginia), by increasing the abundance of native plants, providing nest sites, and reducing the use of pesticides.
As part of our continued partnership with Bee City USA and the City of Westover, we’re kicking off our first project of the year on June 13th, 2026—the annual Westover Pollinator Triangle and City Park Cleanup! We’d love for you to join us in helping protect pollinator habitats and beautify our shared spaces.
We’ll provide some supplies, but feel free to bring your own gloves and gardening tools. Plus, stick around for a free Native Pollinator Hotel Workshop—a hands-on activity where you can learn how to support local pollinators right in your own backyard!
