We are delighted to welcome one of the world's most pre-eminent theologians, former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams to deliver this a talk as part of our Narnia Week events."When C.S. Lewis wrote his first Narnia book, he was still best known as a brilliant, fluent, taking-no-prisoners apologist for robust Christian teaching. Children's fiction was an unexpected departure for him. What did this enable him to say that he couldn't otherwise have said? And what does this say about the role of the imagination in faith today?'
Dr Rowan Williams was the Bishop of Monmouth (1992-2002) and Archbishop of Wales (1999-2002), before becoming Archbishop of Canterbury between 2003 and 2012. Since 2014 he has been Chancellor of the University of South Wales and Chair of the international development charity Christian Aid. He has published widely on religion and social affairs.
