Calling All Bakers! Project 412 and the Becker County Ag Society are teaming up to host the 2026 Best of Becker County “Red, White & Blue” Pie Contest
WHEN: Thursday, July 30, 2026
WHERE: Becker County Fair – Open Class Building
REGISTRATION: 8:00 – 11:00 am |
CATEGORIES:
• Red = Cherry
• White = Apple
• Blue = Blueberry
CRITERIA: Your pie will be judged by a panel of local Judges for 1) Overall Appearance, 2) Crust (color, texture, doneness), 3) Filling (consistency and color), and 4) Taste.
WINNER: One winner will be selected for each category (Red – White – Blue). Winners will be announced at 1:30 pm and will receive a $100 cash prize along with a commemorative gift.
RULES:
1. One pie entry per category, may enter in all 3 categories
2. A separate registration must be submitted for each pie entered.
3. Pies must be entered in the name of the person who baked the pie.
4. Must provide a written recipe or list of ingredients with entry.
(This is to avoid allergen issues.)
5. Must be made from scratch (no store bought crust or filling).
6. Pies may have single or double crusts, lace/lattice or crumb tops may also be used.
7. Open to all amateur bakers - including fair board members and their family members.
8. Entries must be delivered in 8” – 10” disposable or non-returnable pans.
9. Pies must be baked at home and delivered to the Open Class building on the Becker County Fairgrounds, where they will be assigned a number; thus, maintaining confidentiality of the bakers.
10. Entering this contest indicates you give permission to have your photo taken and used for future promotional materials including, but not limited to, social media for the Becker County Fair and Project 412.
