Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, septet originaire de Soweto en Afrique du Sud, mêle funk autochtone, hip-hop engagé et énergie punk rock dans une transe à la fois hédoniste et politique. Né de répétitions dans un conteneur maritime, le groupe s’est imposé sur les plus grandes scènes internationales, remportant le Womex Artist Award en 2023. Offrant des performances incandescentes, BCUC donne une voix contemporaine aux traditions ancestrales, explorant les réalités des sans-voix et la richesse spirituelle des cultures africaines dans un feu psychédélique, brut et puissant.

Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness, the Soweto-born septet better known as BCUC, channel a heady fusion of indigenous funk, politically charged hip-hop and punk rock energy into a trance that is as hedonistic as it is defiant. Formed out of jam sessions in a shipping container, the group have since stormed major international stages, earning the WOMEX Artist Award in 2023. Delivering incendiary live performances, BCUC give a contemporary voice to ancestral traditions, exploring the realities of the unheard alongside the spiritual richness of African cultures with raw, psychedelic force.
