BAY-Peace Outside! Community Hike (September edition)
About this Event
Join us for BAY-Peace Outside!, a monthly community hiking club created by BAY-Peace to bring youth, community members, movement leaders, organizational partners, and supporters together through nature, storytelling, and collective wellness.
For our September hike, we will gather at the Clyde Woolridge Trail lot for an afternoon of connection, movement, and community building. Whether you are an experienced hiker or someone looking for a meaningful way to spend time outdoors, you are welcome here.
📍 September Meeting Location
We will meet at the Clyde Woolridge Trailhead Parking Lot (at the intersection of Grass Valley Rd and Skyline Blvd — see map above). Look for the BAY-Peace Outside! team to check in when you arrive.
🌲 The Trail
The Goldenrod, Cascade, Red Tail, Cottontail, and Jackson Grade loop is 5.4 mi long, 830 ft elevation gain, and takes about 2.5–3hrs.
This route leads through a variety of landscapes ranging from eucalyptus and oak/bay woodlands to open grasslands to shady creek canyons. In spring, wildflowers abound in the open hills. The trail has a few steep climbs as it leads to the bottom of the canyon and the ridge beyond.
Note: If you only want to do part of the trail, we’ll have that option available. There are no restrooms at the staging area or along the trail, so plan accordingly!
🚗 Parking Information
Street parking: Free (limited availability). Lake Chabot parking lot: $5 per vehicle
🚙 Need a Ride or Want to Carpool?
Transportation should not be a barrier to community participation. If you need a ride or can offer a ride, please indicate this during registration so we can help coordinate carpools!

Why BAY-Peace Outside?
BAY-Peace Outside! meets every 3rd Sunday of the month from August 2026 through June 2027, exploring different trails throughout the Bay Area while creating intentional spaces to move our bodies, build relationships, reconnect with the land, and strengthen community.
- More than a hiking group; an opportunity to slow down, meet new people, and create meaningful connections across generations.
- Each gathering will include time for hiking, reflection, storytelling, and conversations connected to healing, culture, wellness, and our relationship with the land.
- Throughout the year, hikes may include conversations led by BAY-Peace youth leaders, staff, and community members, creating opportunities for intergenerational learning and shared experiences.
Ways to Participate & Support
BAY-Peace Outside! is also a community fundraising initiative supporting BAY-Peace's youth leadership, healing justice, arts, and wellness programs. Our goal is to raise $12,500 to sustain accessible opportunities where young people can heal, build leadership skills, express themselves creatively, and transform their communities.
🥾Hike participation is always free.
Your RSVP gets you on the trail — and if you enjoy the experience, we invite you to help us keep building it through a tax-deductible contribution of any amount:
Every gift helps us grow opportunities for youth healing, leadership, creativity, wellness, and connection.
