Experts discuss U.S. grand strategy
About this Event

Dramatic changes in the world make it important for America to rethink and reconfigure its grand strategy. The changes include an ongoing technological revolution, the arrival of China as a peer competitor, Russia’s violent assertiveness in Eastern Europe, the reformation of traditional alliance relationships, lethal U.S. interventions in Venezuela and Iran and the widening conflict in the Middle East, and, not least, America’s own rebellion against the international order that it has sustained for 80 years.
Americans debate how best to sustain U.S. power, influence, and economic vitality as well as its relationships with allies around the world. As the United States enters another presidential election cycle, there will be significant public interest in how best to manage the world.

Three panels will address the following topics:
• Key challenges/aims
• Enhancing national power/technology etc.
• Strategy and statecraft
• Allies, adversaries, and regions
• International order and values
Participants include a range of public intellectual-leaning academics and practitioners including those outside of the traditional foreign policy consensus.
9:00am-10:15am: Panel 1
10:15am-10:30: Break
10:30am-11:45pm: Panel 2
11:45pm-1:00pm: Break
1:00pm-2:15pm: Panel 3
