Join me on this 2-hour guided walk exploring how communities came together to battle against injustice and exploitation.
About this Event

Find out about a community who erected a memorial to the death of their young from World War One trench warfare, the heaviest of any single road in London. A local working-class artist who led action against the fascists. And a community devastated by the largest loss of civilian life during World War Two, who battled to have the truth revealed and erect a memorial.

Some of the stories are part of a wider history such as Huguenot silk weavers whose riots and actions against changing working conditions led to public executions as a warning to others. A corrupt businessman, property developer, magistrate and politician whose increasing wealth and power led to the shrinking living standards of the very people he was supposed to support. A physician who studied the local streets and challenged the authorities to change practices to prevent disease. And an architect who introduced innovative, pioneer working-class housing to replace the slums.

Discover their stories on this guided walk.
