Bath Spa University’s MA Writing for Young People Author Panel & Readings

Join us for an evening of discussion and live readings from Zulekha Afzal (author of Dancers of the Dawn), Clare Harlow (Author of Tidemagic) and Joanne Simmonds (author of I Knew You Were Trouble and Run Away With Me) all Graduates of the MA Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University.
Since it began, the MA has produced more than 90 published children’s authors, including Fleur Hitchcock, Nizrana Farook and Anika Hussain. Graduates from the course have featured on the Waterstones Book Prize, the YA Book Prize, the Carnegie Medal and almost every other major prize in the UK and further afield.On this celebratory evening, this panel of published authors from the MA will discuss what they know about writing for children, talk about their journeys to publication, read from their latest books, and share insights on where they see children’s publishing going. After a short break, recent graduates from the MA will read from their works-in-progress, giving us a sneak-preview of the new writing emerging from the MA this year.
