Join Yjindibarndi and Djaru artist Emma-Jane Hunt for a hands-on basket weaving workshop exploring traditional weaving techniques and cultural storytelling.
Guided by Emma-Jane, participants will learn foundational weaving methods while creating their own handmade basket to take home. Alongside the creative process, the workshop offers an opportunity to connect with culture, creativity and the importance of preserving traditional practices.
Emma-Jane was taught to weave by Martu Weavers from the Western Desert while living in the East Pilbara and is passionate about keeping weaving alive as an important cultural practice.

You’ll find Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery between the Joondalup Library and City of Joondalup Administration Building, next to the Council Chambers.
Free public parking is available in the Library Car Park. Alternatively, the gallery is a 13-minute walk from Joondalup Train Station, or you can catch the Blue CAT bus, which departs every 15 minutes from the station.

Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery features a flat, level floor surface and wide doorways.
