Baroque Music Festival Concert #1
You’re Invited (Friday, June 19, 7pm): A rare treat to hear WTC Book 1 on Richard Kingston French Double harpsichord, with refreshments and wine tasting
Not only will it be a special treat to hear the first book of the Well-Tempered Clavier on the instrument it was originally written for (the harpsichord, of course!), but we are also supremely fortunate to have Jacqueline Farrell as our harpsichordist. This concert will feature the first 14 preludes and fugues, with the last 10 split between the Saturday and Sunday festival concerts (so make sure you come to all three!).
Jacqueline is well known for her interpretations of Bach, so I’m happy to let you know we are in for a superb night of Baroque music. One of the hallmarks of her harpsichord playing is a stunning richness of tone. She’s also known for precise technique, which, as you know, is a linchpin of excellent Bach playing. We (and Bach) will be in good hands, quite literally.
The evening will begin 30 minutes before the concert with drinks on the porch, then we will move inside for the musical program. During intermission, we'll take a break for refreshments, wine tasting, and socializing.
If you’re able, I invite you to forward this email to 2-3 friends or colleagues.. Word of mouth makes a tremendous difference in putting on the Baroque Music Festival.
