ARIA Award-winning and Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Barney McAll brings his Non-Compliance Trio to the Ellington Jazz Club, joined by two of Australia’s finest improvisers: drummer Ben Vanderwal and bassist Zac Grafton.
After spending 20 years living and working in New York, McAll returns with a trio that draws on jazz, gospel, soul, and spontaneous composition to create music that is lyrical, adventurous, and deeply interactive. Over his career, McAll has performed and recorded with artists including Dewey Redman, Gary Bartz, and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Expect original compositions, collective improvisation, and a musical conversation unfolding in real time.
