Viva Brazil is an electrifying homage to the greatest Brazilian music of all time! Led by Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Marcio Mendes, this special performance honours the legends who defined Brazilian music. Featuring iconic songs by Djavan, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tom Jobim, Emílio Santiago, and many more, this show celebrates the rich rhythms and timeless melodies of Brazil.
Marcio hails from São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city. He has played music professionally since his early 20’s and has performed and shared the stage with highly respected names of the Brazilian music scene such as Djavan, Gilberto Gil and also famous samba bands from Brazil such Katinguele, Art Popular and Negritude Jr. He has entertained crowds as large as 30 thousand people in Brazil, Europe and Australia with artists such as Leandro Lehart, Rachel Claudio and the acclaimed pianist Tania Maria.
Now based in Perth, Marcio’s musicality, unique charisma, personality and sense of humour, which never seems to get lost in translation, have brought crowds to dance all night – If you love Brazilian music, you can’t miss this show!
