Bargaining Seminar for Region 6

This seminar is a first for members in Region 6. We are hosting a half day class for New Presidents, new bargaining members, or a member who is on a bargaining team that wants to learn more about the process.

The class discussion will be taught by three Region members who have strong experience with bargaining. David Crasper JCEA, Jake Snarr IFEA and Lisie Smith TEA

This class will be a time to learn and share information on bargaining strategies, salary schedules and writing language to improve negotiated agreements in locals across the region.

The goal of this class is to support members who have a desire to learn more about bargaining as well share information on how to build a salary schedule using the state funding formula as well discuss various types of language that improves the education profession. The class will offer discussion as well as roll playing and sharing negotiated agreements from various locals in the region. We will have plenty of Q and A and exchange information on what strategies have helped locals during negotiations. Included in the information we will provide some of the bargaining laws as well as some sample letters for opening bargaining, and what a district should provide to a local prior to bargaining.

Class size is limited. This will be a first come first serve sign up with a cap on this class to have plenty of discussion with limited time.
