“Barbie Summer Ball” Remember, you can be anything, and yes, you are Kenough!
The evening is open to everyone connected to RGS the Grange and is a fabulous opportunity to meet and mingle!
When: Saturday 22nd June 2024 7pm – 12 (over 18s only)
Where: RGS The Grange marquee
What is included: welcome drink, aerial performers, three course meal, tea and coffee station, treat station, outdoor pop-up bar area, indoor VIP chill out area, live band, casino, silent auction, table games, professional photographer offering traditional ‘black tie photos’ or ‘strike a pose’ in our life-size Barbie box.
Price: £70pp (discount for RGS staff), limited tables of 10 or 12
Dress code: Barbie and Ken, dress to impress.
Extras: please bring your ‘life in plastic, its fantastic’ card to pay for drinks, games and silent auction
How do I secure tickets?
Please liaise with your friends and family to organise a table of 10 or 12 people and you’re your lead ‘Barbie’ or ‘Ken’ to take their payments. Do not worry if you are not a full table, we can pair people up to create a table if needed.
The lead Barbie or Ken should transfer the full amount for their table (£700 or £840) to the RGS The Grange PTA bank account sort code 40-47-17 account 12831341 before 30th April.
Text / WhatsApp Jennifer Barnes on 07712649091 when paid with the names of your party and any allergies or dietary requirements.
Nearer the time the lead Barbie or Ken will be asked to send pre-order requirements for champagne and wine (red, white, or rose) for your table. There will also be specialist local drinks and cocktails available on the night in the outdoor pop-up bar area.
Plan your outfit for the ball … whether it is Barbie, Ken, Alan, your trusty black-tie tux, your reliable sparkly evening outfit but with a splash of something pink, a sequin disco jumpsuit or working out how practical it will be to sport a mermaid / merman tail for the evening … have fun! Awards for the best outfits!
We will also be having a pop-up Barbie pamper station before the event. Pre-booking essential and slots are limited for hair styling, makeup application, gel nails (fingers and toes) and seated massage (percentage profit to the PTA).

The Barbie Summer Ball Committee is led by Jennifer Barnes with a group of parents from all year groups. If you would like to get involved, please get in touch with her on 07712649091. We have an ambitious target of raising £6000 to provide equipment and resources for children at the school so are pulling in as many favours and contacts as possible!
- Please let us know if anyone in the RGS community or local businesses have skills or resources that could contribute to making the ball “the best day ever”!
- We have limited sponsorship opportunities for local businesses including £100 per table x28 table sponsors, £500 welcome area sponsorship, £500 VIP chill out area sponsorship and £250 printing sponsorship. All sponsors will be acknowledged, their socials and logos shared during all ‘Barbie Summer Ball’ communications and on the night!
- We are looking for ‘silent auction’ prizes of items or services with a minimum value of £50 to be bid on the night. This could be tickets to a sports fixture, a signed piece of memorabilia, a beauty treatment, gig tickets, a house cleaning visit, a car valet service, spa day, tennis or golf lessons, a meal voucher, a hamper …
- We need volunteers to help set up on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd daytime and close down on Sunday 23rd, any duration of time welcomed with tasks from hoovering, putting up tables to setting out menus and decorations
