Bardstown is widely considered one of the best and most technologically advanced distillers in the industry. Founded recently in the Bourbon Capital, this young distillery has thwarted conventional history by rising to the fore of its industry in record time. It's garnering praise and prestigious awards alike, recently culminating in capturing the "Best Worldwide Whiskey Producer of the Year" award at the annual International Wine and Spirits Competition, one of the highest and most coveted accolades within the spirits industry.
And on the other end of this lies a man and his many smokers. Quite like Bardstown, Chef James Anderson is no stranger to public praise and adulation. His mastery of the BBQ pit is well documented, and quite like in the world of fine bourbon, he's informed by a time-honored & traditional approach that yields incredible results with incredibly simple ingredients.
The crossover similarities have to be part of the magic that's seen BBQ and Bourbon inextricably linked throughout American lore. Both rooted in the south, both with a "low-and-slow" methodology, and both being undeniably tasty when executed on high, it's no wonder that these two sensory endeavors heighten the experience of one another when paired.
Bourbon and BBQ. BBQ and Bourbon. Nothing fussy or fancy no matter how you try and package it, but done up like this should make for a night you'll happily recollect. Or maybe a night too hazy to recollect...Know that we certainly don't judge. Ain't nothing wrong with a good time.
Expect around 7 courses led by Chef James Anderson with a focus on barbecue, smoke, and southern traditions with a fancy but comfortable feel. Eric Lund will be leading the bar and he will use a good variety of whiskey from Bardstown's portfolio. Expect to cheers with a rep from Bardstown Bourbon Co. to hear all about what you will be enjoying.
