Barbara has brought over 30 years of experience to teaching, training and competing horses from USDF Training level through FEI Grand Prix. Barbara has earned her USDF gold, silver, bronze medals and gold and silver freestyle bars. She has won numerous regional championships and national awards on several mounts including placing 3rd in the National Dressage Finals in the Grand Prix Freestyle and 7th in the Intermediare1. Most recently she and Heinemann SBG, her own mount, finished 3rdlast year in the Hanoverian 4th level all breed awards. In 2024 they began their year with a win at Prix St George in FL with a 69.8% as they embark on their FEI journey.
Barbara began her FEI career winning a team bronze in the North American Young Rider’s Championships. She went on to be the assistant trainer at Hilltop Farm for many years. She studied and competed in Europe under the tutelage of four-time Olympic gold medal winner, Nicole Uphoff-Selke. Barbara has also extensively trained and cliniced with George Williams and Bent Jenson.
With extensive experience training and coaching young riders(including taking them through the young rider program and to young rider championships), adult amateurs (including many event riders), and professionals, Barbara has brought numerous of these riders to compete and win at dressage and eventing championships.
For Barbara though, it is not just about the competition or awards. She loves working with each individual horse and rider toward their personal goals along their own journey to excellence.
