Auditions: May 8, Location: Orchard Hill Reformed Church (Please park in the back and follow signs for bandstand auditions)
Callbacks: May 14, Location: Orchard Hill Reformed Church
Rehearsal Location: The Homeschool Building
Performances: September 24-26, Location: East GR
*Rehearsal commitments will vary by role, and we are willing to work with schedule conflicts and unique circumstances. We highly encourage those who are interested to audition. However, this is a challenging production and those cast will be expected to take responsibility for staying up to date, as too many missed rehearsals may significantly impact their ability to keep pace.
WHAT TO PREPARE
Everyone will need to prepare 30 seconds of a musical theater song, 20-30 second monologue (unless ONLY auditioning for Ensemble), and learn the appropriate audition dance ahead of time.
The dance tutorials will be available April 20.
*those being considered for the role of Donny will be asked to play the piano at callbacks.
WHAT TO BRING
Please have your sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist.
IMPORTANT NOTICES:
Because of the subject matter there will be some miled profanity in this production, as well as some intense depictions of war and PTSD.
Because of the challenging musical requirements we have made the decision to precast five of the supporting characters who make up the band. However the lead roles, some supporting roles, and our ensemble are all open for auditions.
We are charging a $40 production fee for all castembers which will be due at the read through (July 27). This is to help us ensure we can provide adequate costumes and props to our performers. While it is not a practice we want to make a habit of, it is necessary for this show.
