Balkan folk dances from selected regions in Bulgaria - chain dances, no partner required
About this Event

Join me on at our active dance practice with folk dances from regions in today's Bulgaria - Thrace, Dobroudja, Rhodopa etc.

This event is suitable for those who are already familiar with (some of) the most popular chain folk dances (horo) in Bulgaria and would like to practice, learn a few new dances, show us variation from their village / region. We will practice Pravo horo (variations), Dajchovo, Pajdushko, Trite pati, Elenino and more ...

Everyone is welcome but please note that only two dances will have detailed steps breakdown. People with more dance experience would be able to learn some patterns with a short guidance and we will provide it where it is suitable.

Balkan folk dances are chain dances where no partner is required. There is a basic pattern (of 6 or 8 steps) which repeats in the dance.

Please note: Bring a pair of clean soft sole shoes to use only in the studio. There is a room for changing. Shoes don't need to be any special kind but should be suitable for physical activity; trainers are ok. Barefoot or with socks is not acceptable and I rserve the right to refuse admission to the studio.
