Balfour Reparations (2024-2044)

GBCT Arts presents a performance lecture by Palestinian dance artist Farah Saleh which confronts the UK’s colonial legacy in Palestine, particularly through the role of Arthur Balfour. Blending history, fiction, and archival material, Saleh explores the denial of Palestinian political rights. Set in 2044, the audience becomes part of a reparations committee reflecting on a fictive apology issued by the UK in 2024.

Donations will go towards the following causes:

Art is creativity and the art of the oppressed is freedom. 

Raising funds for an ambitious project: establishing a theater in our city, inspired by the  Freedom Theater in Jenin. This theater will be a platform for producing and performing works  that share the Palestinian story with the world. 

The funds raised will go towards producing our first theatrical performance, which will be the  cornerstone of our efforts to establish a permanent theater in Tulkarem. This space will not only  serve as a cultural hub for our community but will also enable us to tour globally, sharing  Palestine’s story and giving voice to our experiences. Your support will help provide children in  Tulkarem with a creative outlet, allowing them to explore their talents and express themselves in  ways that are otherwise restricted. 

Al Harah Theater: A Voice for Theatre & Culture in Palestine 

Al Harah is a theatre company for children and young people which began in Bethlehem in 2005.  Our mission is to use the medium of theatre to cultivate an inclusive and empowering  atmosphere where individuals from varied backgrounds can flourish and articulate themselves.  Al Harah is committed to safeguarding, advocating for, and fostering partnerships with  individuals from diverse demographics across Palestine, the UK, and globally. 

Al Harah Theater's work at the moment concentrates on safe spaces for children, women and  people with disability in the West Bank and supporting artists in Gaza to work with children in  displacement centers. Working with traumatised children is an urgent need at the moment. Al  Harah urgently needs this support to be able to continue its work in the community. 

From Reward To Rebuild To Rehab Our Children 

The Gaza Strip has a few refugee camps where families live with only basic medical and  educational resources provided by the U.N. Most of these families have many children and rely  heavily on these basic services. It is challenging for these families to raise their children and  provide for their basic physical needs, let alone provide the sense of safety and security that  every child deserves. 

Camps Breakerz Crew (CB Crew) is a dance team that was established in 2003 by a group of  local youths to represent the Palestinian children and support them through the emotional and  social struggles caused by the political turmoil around them by performing and teaching dance.
