About this Event

BACK TO YOU

BACK TO YOU is a space to step out of all the things that pull you out of yourself, come back into your body and reconnect with you.

This group somatic session guides you out of your head, out of the constant mental noise and external demands, and back into your body, back to you — where things are actually happening and needed.

This session takes place outdoors, in the rich and alive Lesnes Abbey Woodlands, which become part of the experience.

Fresh air, open space, the sounds of nature and wildlife, immersed in trees. All of it supports your system to settle and open in a different way.

You’re not just working with and reconnecting to yourself. You’re also in connection with others and with the nature around you.



THIS SPACE IS FOR YOU IF YOU'VE BEEN:

✵ Stuck in your head or overthinking

✵ Disconnected from your body, emotions, self

✵ Holding a lot without space to process or express it

✵ Feeling flat, tense, wired, or slightly off but not sure why

✵ Cconstantly “on” or unable to switch off

✵ Tending to everyone and everything else, with little attention or energy left for you and your needs

✵ Going through the motions rather than actually feeling present, and alive

✵ Sensing something isn’t quite right, but not knowing what or how to access it

✵ Craving intensity or stimulation, or finding yourself reaching for things to feel something

✵ Wanting to feel more clear, present, balanced, or like yourself again




WHAT TO EXPECT

✵ A mix of somatic practices, gentle soma movement, breathwork, sensory mindfulness and meditation.

✵ You’re guided throughout, but everything is invitational. You move and engage in a way that works for you, there is no right or wrong.

✵ A little reflection, journaling, and sharing (if you wish to share).

✵ A little connection practice.

✵ Permission to laugh, cry, speak, be silent, feel a lot, feel a little. All of you is welcome.

✵ A small, intimate group of women, all on their own journey of healing, self discovery and self-development and growth. Here you will find safety, connection and co-regulation, with lovely humans.

✵ Zero strenuous activity.



What you’ll leave with tends to be simple, but meaningful and felt in your body, mind & heart.

Feeling lighter.

More balanced.
More connected to yourself.
More space and relief in your body and mind.


If you’ve been needing space but pushing through instead of taking it, or not feeling fully 'here' connected to yourself - this is a place to interrupt that.


NOTE:

The exact meeting point will be shared with you via email or message the day before the session. From the meeting point we have a short walk to our private spot in the woodlands. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE MEETING POINT AT 12:45 PM.




HOW TO PREPARE / WHAT TO BRING

You don’t need any experience with this kind of work.


You simply need:

A yoga mat

A small floor cushion or portable chair to sit on.

Your journal & pen.

Water.

Comfortable, weather appropriate clothes that welcome you into nature's rhythms.

Possibly a raincoat and umbrella, just in case.




YOUR GUIDE

BACK TO YOU is led by Essena, a coach, consultant, and somatic practitioner working at the intersection of somatic and cognitive modalities, and relationality.

Her work spans interconnected areas including emotional experience, psychological and physical wellbeing, identity, personal and professional relationships, intimacy, aliveness, purpose, and leadership.

Essena works with 1:1 clients supporting them in navigating and transforming how they experience, feel, think, relate, and show up across both their personal and professional lives. This is deep, ongoing ,therapeutic work - working with the mind and body, nervous system, trauma, parts, belief systems, fear and shame, thought and behavioural patterns.

In addition to her private practice of therapeutic coaching, and relational consulting work, she is also a somatic practitioner and offers group somatic sessions and retreats called BACK TO YOU.




HOW MANY BACK TO YOU EVENTS DO YOU RUN?

Currently I run two BACK TO YOU group sessions:


One is held online. (In the Autumn / Winter months)

One is held in the woodlands. (In the Spring / Summer months)


BACK TO YOU: Online & BACK TO YOU: Woodlands - are gentle somatic group sessions to bring your attention back to you, your experience and needs. These sessions regulate and resource the nervous system, bring the mind and body back into balance, provide some relief from mental or physical discomfort or overload.

While each location offers its own atmosphere, qualities, and opportunities for different practices, they all share the same essence: helping you come back to yourself.


And I run one BACK TO YOU: The Retreat.

BACK TO YOU: The Retreat offers these things too, but with even deeper self-connection and restoration. It's held in a lodge. The retreat comprises a unique arc and special additions. Compared to Back to You woodland sessions, the retreat is more intensive simply because of the range, depth, and duration of practices we engage in during the retreat.
