Strong in the Storm: Building Resilience and Leading Yourself Through
Uncertainty
Uncertainty is part of everyday life…
Deadlines move. Plans shift. Opportunities appear and disappear quickly. Expectations grow
while time and energy stay the same.
For many people, the challenge isn’t the pressure itself, it’s how they respond to it.
When things feel unpredictable, capable and committed people often try to regain control by
pushing harder, working longer, overthinking decisions, and taking on even more responsibility.
Over time, these patterns quietly drain energy, chip away at confidence, and leave people
feeling exhausted or close to burnout.
If this is you, you might wonder why others can cope but you can’t. You might say you’re too
sensitive or not cut out for it. But none of this is true.
Being resilient isn’t about avoiding the storm, it’s about remaining steady as the waves crash.
Who this session is for
This session is for people who care deeply about their work, and often carry more responsibility
than most.
You might look like:
• Replaying decisions in your head long after the meeting or conversation has finished
• Feeling like you’re the one who has to hold everything together when things get difficult
• Finding it hard to switch off because there’s always one more thing to think about or solve
• Pushing through pressure and uncertainty by working harder, even when you know it’s not
sustainable
• Appearing calm and capable on the outside, but quietly feeling like you’re crumbling behind the scenes
If you’ve ever thought “I just need to get through this busy period and then things will calm
down”, only to find the pressure never really disappears, this session is for you.
It’s designed to help you stay effective and resilient when things feel uncertain, without
constantly pushing yourself towards exhaustion.
What we’ll explore together
In this interactive session we’ll explore the psychology behind why some people are better at
coping than others, so you can better understand yourself.
You’ll learn why uncertainty triggers patterns like overthinking, urgency and overwork, (it might
not be what you think).
We’ll also explore practical ways to respond differently in those moments so you can stay
grounded, make clearer decisions and protect your energy when things feel challenging.
What you’ll leave with
By the end of the workshop you will:
• Understand your personal response to pressure and uncertainty
• Recognise behaviours that may be draining your energy
• Learn a practical framework for staying steady in difficult moments
• Identify one small shift you can apply immediately to strengthen your resilience
