The Thirteen completes our survey of Bach’s four short masses, following our “fascinating” and "stirring” (Washington Classical Review) performance of The Early Masses I in 2025. The Masses in A Major and G Minor exhibit all of the mastery of the composer’s B Minor Mass in the form of smaller and digestible delights, written by the composer at a highpoint of his career. The Thirteen performs his two early masses featuring Baroque flute, oboe and orchestra, paired with two of his finest and most beloved instrumental works: the Concerto for Two Violins in D Major, BWV 1043 and Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, BWV 1050. Violinists Adriane Post and Mandy Wolman, harpsichordist Adam Pearl, flutist David Ross will join our choir of twelve, professional soloists, performing "with striking color and richness" (The Washington Post).
