Symphony847 opens its 2026-27 season on Saturday, November 7 at 7:30 PM at the Cressey Center for the Arts in Lake Forest (1500 West Kennedy Road).
Tickets: https://link.symphony847.org/November-2026
$20 general admission. $10 for college students. Free for anyone 17 and under (just add a free ticket at checkout). We sell through Zeffy, so there are no ticket fees.
The program starts and ends with Bach. We open with his Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, then two living composers, Anders Hillborg and Lawrence Axelrod, answer it with music that reimagines and extends his material. We close with Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and his Orchestral Suite No. 2. If you've ever wondered what Bach would sound like to a composer writing today, come and hear it.
PROGRAM
J.S. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3
Anders Hillborg: Bach Materia
Lawrence Axelrod: Brandenburg Fantasia No. 1
J.S. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3
J.S. Bach: Orchestral Suite No. 2
Christopher Ramaekers, conductor
This is a new venue for us, and we're looking forward to playing there. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Directions and arrival details are on our Plan Your Visit page: https://symphony847.org/plan-your-visit
