Students will learn the fundamentals of childcare, including feeding and diapering, and child safety, such as choking emergencies and home hazards, as well as CPR/AED. Parents, this is a great class to build confidence, as your pre-teen/young teen may be entering the world of babysitting or starting to stay home alone for the first time.The class is taught using an assortment of relevant videos, hands-on skill-building sessions, and games.
Enrolled students will receive a 30+ page Babysitting Safety digital course book prior to the start of class, a certificate of completion for the babysitting portion of the class, an 80-page American Heart Association Friends & Family student manual, and a Friends and Family CPR participation certificate.
Students will need to bring a lunch and beverage the day of the class.
