Join us for a rare immersive weekend with internationally recognized artist and educator Ken Little of Resonant Transitions, featuring sound baths, hands-on workshops, and deep exploration into the world of Bear Love Flumies at the Resonance Room inside Denver Percussion.
Across this special Summer Solstice weekend, Ken will share his unique approach to sound, mindfulness, and overtone-rich percussion through a series of experiences designed for both curious newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.
The weekend begins Friday evening with a deeply restorative solo Sound Journey featuring gongs, singing bowls, flumies, cymbals, and expansive ambient soundscapes designed to support relaxation, meditation, reflection, and nervous system restoration.
Saturday features a full-day Introduction to Flumies Workshop, where participants will explore the fundamentals of Bear Love Flumies — expressive friction mallets capable of unlocking rich drones, harmonics, and entirely new sonic textures from gongs and metal percussion instruments. Open to all experience levels, this course covers sound creation, tone control, sustaining drones, care techniques, and foundational playing methods.
Saturday evening, celebrate the Summer Solstice with a collaborative immersive sound bath featuring Ken Little and Dr. Arin Levy, director of the Resonance Room and founder of Enso Sounds & Healing Arts. Blending gongs, flumies, singing bowls, overtone percussion, and meditative improvisation, this one-night-only journey invites deep rest, reflection, and connection through sound during the longest day of the year.
The weekend concludes Sunday with an advanced Creative Layering & Double-Handed Flumie Techniques Workshop for participants looking to deepen their practice. This training explores overtone isolation, harmonic expression, double-handed friction techniques, vibrato, layering, and expanded gong textures through advanced flumie applications.
Ken Little has shared his work throughout Canada and internationally, expanding the possibilities of gongs and resonant metal instruments through experimental techniques, mindfulness-centered performance, and immersive sound experiences.
