AärdCON 2026 Workshop 4 // Bridging the Gap Between Wild and Adventure

Learn how the real world environment and nature overlap with Table Top Role Playing games through a podcast and immersive world. Conservation meets dice rolling. The real world meshes with a fantasy one. Enhance your gaming experience by bringing in local plants.

An upcoming opportunity to take part in bridging the gap between the wide outdoors and the cold prehistoric tabletop world of "Born from Ice". Learn about the campaign to bring to life a "Born from Ice" table top podcast. It is a 5E campaign where I will lead people through a story of "Born from Ice" The podcast will star players with 5E experience but no plant ID experience as part of the podcast will include trips to municipal parks to learn about plant ID and any plants they successfully learn to identify they can have proficiency with during the campaign as well as gain experience points for. They will also meet various professional guest speakers to learn more about the environment and early human history that they can apply to the campaign. For this workshop not only will you learn about this project and ask questions but you will also learn the basics of plant ID and how nature experience can enhance your in-game experience.

Workshops are upstairs in the Social Room. This is up one flight of stairs and there is not evelator access to this space. We are sorry for any difficulties this causes.

This is a workshop organized and held at AärdCON 2026.This ticket is your entrance fee to AärdCON, there is no additional fee to play in one of our games. We only ask that you pay in advance to have a seat at the workshop table so the runners know how many adventurers will be attending. Show this ticket at the front desk to access the convention.
