AWS Thruway Cup Qualifier Competition

Our local chapter of American Welding Society is hosting a welding competition for high school students from Capital Region BOCES CTE, Schoharie BOCES CTE and Hudson Questar, on Saturday, 4/5 at 925B Watervliet Shaker Rd, Colonie, New York, 12205. Students will complete a series of welds, competing for scholarships, incredible merch and bragging rights. The top 3 performers will be sent to Rochester, New York to compete in the AWS District 6 Thruway Cup for the state title on Saturday, 5/3, individually and as a team. Last year, we brought talented students to compete in this rigorous competition, and are honored to participate again this year.

Check-in for competitors will open at 8am, the competition will begin at 8:30am.

We are currently seeking sponsorships for our Capital Region competition. Any company who would like to donate material or monies between $250 - $500 to this event will be welcome to setup a table at our local competition to promote their business, and will also have their logo printed on all promotional banners and flyers.
