Michigan Association of Senior Centers with Brooke Allen Present the Annual Awards of Excellence, honoring senior center and senior services professionals throughout the state of Michigan.Celebrate everyday heroes and programs supporting our Michigan seniors. Nominate New Professional, Center Director, Volunteer, Facility, or Program of the year for the Annual Senior Services Award Banquet.
Banquet tickets for guests supporting award winners or professionals not attending conference as well as participation in silent auction directly support our nonprofit organization at MASC!
The Annual Awards of Excellence will be hosted by Master of Ceremony, Brooke Allen.
Registration is required.

Community Partner Award
This award recognizes a community partner or organization whose collaboration has significantly benefited the senior center and its members. Community Partner of the Year Award Criteria:- Must have collaborated with a senior center organization for at least one year.- Provides significant support or resources that enhance the center’s programs or services.- Demonstrates a commitment to the well-being and empowerment of older adults.- Shows a strong and positive working relationship with the senior center(s) and seniors- Has a measurable impact on the organization's ability to achieve its mission and goals.
Facility Improvement Award Criteria- The improvement project must have been completed within the last three years.- Enhances the accessibility, safety, or overall environment of the senior center.- Reflects a significant investment in the center’s infrastructure or facilities.- Shows a positive impact on the center’s operations and the experience of its users.- Demonstrates community involvement and support in the improvement process.
New Professional Award
This award recognizes an outstanding individual who has worked
in the senior services industry for less than three years and has demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact.
New Professional Award Criteria- Must have less than three years of experience working in senior centers or senior services.- Demonstrates innovative thinking and creativity in program development or service delivery.- Shows a strong commitment to professional growth and learning.- Exhibits leadership potential and contributes positively to the team and organization.- Has made a significant impact in their role, despite their relatively short tenure.-Has created impactful relationships or change within the older adult community.
Outstanding Senior Center Program Award
Outstanding Senior Center Program Award Criteria- The program must have been operational for at least one year.- Demonstrates excellence in meeting the needs and interests of older adults.- Shows evidence of positive outcomes and participant satisfaction.- Incorporates innovative or unique approaches to engage seniors.- Has potential for replication or serves as a model for other senior centers.
Senior Center Director Award
This award recognizes an exceptional senior center director who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to enhancing services for older adults.
Must have a dedicated director or manager role in leadership within senior center or senior services.- Demonstrates exceptional leadership and management skills supervising both staff and seniors.- Shows a strong commitment to the mission and values of the senior center and aging population.- Has made significant contributions to the growth and development of the center and its programs.- Exhibits a high level of professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the older adult community.-Must have a minimum of 3 outstanding letters of recommendation.
Volunteer (Individual) of the Year Award
The volunteer must have collaborated with a senior center organization for at least one year.- Provides support that enhance the center’s programs or services.- Demonstrates a commitment to the well-being and empowerment of older adults.- Shows a strong and positive working relationship with the senior center(s) and seniors- Has a measurable impact on the organization's ability to achieve its mission and goals.
