Autumn Equinox Wreaths w Acacia Herman

Create your own wreath to celebrate the autumnal equinox- the very middle day between summer solstice and winter solstice. This is the exact day when the total amount of sunlight is equal to the total amount of moonlight.
You are invited to celebrate this time of year- known as Mabon in modern pagan traditions, and honor the bounty harvested from the hard work of spring and summer. Historically, this is the time to gather up our crops and prepare for their darker days ahead, and what better way than to get together and gather all the joy we can before the sun starts hiding longer and longer.
Please feel free to bring any materials that are symbolic of this time of year; dried orange slices, rosemary, marigold, thyme, dried plant material, meaningful tokens or talismans, and anything orange, yellow or red! Students are encouraged to forage or harvest materials from their yards or nearby parks. I will be providing a few premade wreath bases, branches to make your own wreath, wheat, and various dried plants. I will also be providing floral wire, hot glue guns, and a small reflection opportunity for those of us who want to look back on our year with gratitude. Also, a small history lesson on Mabon and what it can mean for us today!
