Build an assurance pack for automated decision-making and AI-supported decisions.
About this Event

This WA AI Hub course is for AI product teams, public-sector decision owners, data teams, risk/compliance officers and service designers. It responds to the new WA privacy environment under the PRIS Act and uses practical case material including biometric technology, PIAs and automated decision-making. Participants leave with a concrete governance artefact they can use in their organisation.

What you will do:
  • Decision map and automation boundary: Separate human decision points, AI assistance and automated steps.
  • Bias, harm and discrimination controls: Design checks for data quality, bias and disproportionate impact.
  • Human oversight and assurance evidence: Define review, escalation, recordkeeping and evidence requirements.
  • Executive assurance pack: Create a one-page ADM assurance summary for approval and monitoring.

Facilitator:

Mr a is a WA AI Hub strategist, technologist, and educator who supports young people to explore AI through practical, hands-on learning while building digital skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for professionals across WA’s public‑sector and AI ecosystem who are responsible for shaping, delivering, and assuring AI projects, including:

  • AI product teams - designing and deploying AI solutions that must integrate privacy and governance safeguards.
  • Public‑sector decision owners - executives and managers accountable for project outcomes and compliance under the PRIS Act.
  • Data teams - analysts and engineers ensuring data quality, bias controls, and responsible use of personal information.
  • Risk and compliance officers - embedding oversight, assurance, and monitoring into organisational practice.
  • Service designers - creating user‑centred services that balance innovation with transparency, trust, and privacy obligations.
