Author Event at Spelled Ink Bookstore, Featuring Hillary Gonzales
About this Event
Join us at Spelled Ink for a moving and deeply personal afternoon with poet Hillary Gonzalez — a Baltimore-based writer, activist, and former Orange resident whose work explores identity, healing, disability, queerness, survival, and the natural world through evocative ecopoetry.
Known for poetry that is both intimate and fiercely compassionate, Hillary’s work invites readers to reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with the living world around them. Their poems weave together themes of resilience, grief, hope, environmental connection, and transformation in ways that are both grounding and unforgettable.
Hillary is the author of Seasons and the forthcoming collections Wild, Unfelt World and Where the Osprey Nest, releasing in 2026. Their poetry has appeared in literary journals and anthologies supporting disability advocacy, environmental healing, and survivor voices.
This special afternoon event will include:
• A live poetry reading
• Discussion of ecopoetry, identity, and healing through art
• Audience Q&A
• Opportunities to meet the author
• Book sales and signing opportunities
• A warm, welcoming bookstore atmosphere with refreshments
Whether you are a longtime poetry lover, an aspiring writer, or simply someone searching for an afternoon of meaningful connection and reflection, this event promises to be a beautiful and inspiring experience.
Come gather in community for an afternoon of words that linger long after the final page.
