The course is open to all levels but it is a closed group course, so if you decide to join, we expect you to attend all the sessions.
"In this 6-session workshop, we will explore the Authentic Movement Method in a closed group and explore the possibilities that this wonderful form can offer in addition to other processes of training. We will meet the real, the self-identical, when we practice Authentic Movement. The form is simple and clear: a closed-eyed free improvisation that always has an involvement...in the attention of the partner, in the common that the group is currently creating. The simple framework of Authentic Movement is an invitation to a very wide range of themes for the participants. I can use it to explore the content that has settled deep within my body...trust that much of what is swirling within me will find a better place in this space of great freedom...I may find some meaty questions...and very often I simply feel more liberated and lighter after a practice.
There is no canonical system for Authentic Movement. It is an open method, it is malleable, but the spirit of the teachers, masters and trainers can be important. I got the basics from Sabine Parzer at the Holistic Dance Institute in Austria. Because of my profession (I'm a psychologist) I also like to work with the self-awareness potential of AM, and I have strong links to the Jungian roots of the method."
