About this Event

Day of the Dead Día de Muertos Sugar Skull Workshop

Discover the beautiful Mexican tradition of El Día de Muertos through the art of decorating authentic sugar skulls.

Sugar skulls are a traditional part of Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico. They symbolise the cycle of life and death and are traditionally placed on the ofrenda to honour and remember loved ones who have passed away.

In this workshop, you will learn how authentic sugar skulls are made and decorate two authentic sugar skulls made from real sugar, using traditional-style icing and decorations. You will learn about the tradition behind these colourful creations and the important role they play in Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations.

With a modern creative twist, small fairy lights will be placed inside the skulls so they glow beautifully when you take them home.

A hands-on workshop celebrating Mexican culture, creativity, tradition and the spirit of El Día de Muertos.
