My story:

I was 25 and finishing off my business degree while working in construction part time doing concreting

I bought a $2k ute for work and decided to post an ad on gumtree for some extra income moving things and taking things to the tip

Within minutes of posting an ad as a "man with a ute" I had recieved my first call and booked in a $50 move.. this was the start of my removals business

The calls kept coming in and pretty soon after had to quit my concreting job to focus on taking on all these small jobs

I then started getting enquries for bigger house hold jobs landed my first house move that was worth $6k , I could't beleive it- I made in 2 days what would normally take me 1 month or more and I was hooked, not to the money but to the ability of being able to make in a few days what would normally take me a month

I built the business up with referrals and started doing much bigger jobs very consistently

I was also building my rubbish removals business along side my furntiture removals business and it worked well becasue I will fill in gaps on non work with one business with the other

I then started buying other furniture removals businesses as I wanted to grow

After about 5 years I've learnt soo much and come and a long way but my goal now is to help others start and grow their own removalist business too

Furniture and Rubbish removals are unregulated industries which allows someone wanting to start a business to do so in a short space of time

The money is great and being on the road and meeting new people beats an office job any day of the week
